A Brief History of the Green Party in the U.S.
The Green Party's grassroots values are echoed in its early beginnings. The predecessor of the Green Party first took root in 1984, when environmental activists gathered in St. Paul, Minnesota to form an organization called the Green Committees of Correspondence. Committees sprang up across the country, focusing on local issues that were important to them. Greens in New England began running candidates for office ã and winning. Greens in Wisconsin supported Native American rights treaties.

About the Green party
In today's world, the people and institutions in control are accelerating a spiral of violence, poverty, and environmental degradation which endangers all the citizens of the earth.
In order to remedy this situation we need to not just lobby our elected officials, but also must put people in power who act with the best interests of the people in mind rather than the interests of those who fill their campaign coffers and the media outlets who control how and if the public percieves them.
